Music P’s new single Dance For Me on Mellow Daze is a cheeky Indie Dance tune (featured on Beatport’s Best Indie Dance October 2025) with lyrics lifted straight from real life.

A playful vocal rides on a bouncy, head-nodding groove, perfect for setting the vibe at the start of the night.

Interview with P about DFM:

Q1: “Dance For Me” feels like one of your most playful records so far – it’s cheeky, confident and a little bit flirty. Can you tell us about the real-life story that inspired it?

I kinda merged two experiences when I wrote the lyrics for this track. There’s this one girl I met on instagram, a Palestinian model, who is insanely beautiful, smart but also rich (hence the out of my league line). The first 6 bars are about her. Then I switched over to situations where I found myself in a few times at a club when I was there with hot girls. Just have a girl dancing in front of me at rave sparked the punchline at the end.

Q2: The lyrics — “She pays the bill, she stands her own…” — are rare in dance music, where women are often portrayed differently. Was it important for you to flip that perspective and celebrate strong, independent women?

Definitely. Everybody is always like “we got girls and champagne” but what if a girl doesn’t care about that and is just there for the vibes and the music. That’s what’s happening here.

Q3: The groove has this effortless bounce that instantly sets the tone for the night — not too heavy, not too mellow. How did you find that balance in the production?

I guess the bass line sparked that laid-back feeling and then of course the acid synth brings that dark, sexy feeling.

Q4: With “Dance For Me” leaning toward Indie Dance, it adds a fresh flavor to your catalogue. How does this track represent where you’re heading sound-wise with Mellow Daze?

We stay true to the Mellow Daze vibe with this one. Deep, sexy, groovy. Indie Dance has always been a part of the repertoire of Marque and me, so this is nothing new.
